Prof. Dr. Wolfgang beck is a founding member of GeNet-ISMRC.
Wolfgang Beck ist seit 2022 als Professor für Pastoraltheologie und Homiletik an der Phil.-Theol.Hochschule Sankt Georgen in Frankfurt tätig. Mit dem Lehrstuhl ist das „Studienprogramm Medien und öffentliche Kommunikation“ verbunden. Mit einer Reihe von Kolleg*innen aus dem Rhein-Main-Gebiet habe ich 2017 den „Arbeitskreis Rhein-Main-Digitale“mitbegründet, aus dessen Tagungen das Kompendium “Theologie und Digitalität” hervorgegangen ist.
Forschungsschwerpunkte
- Phatische Kommunikationsstrukturen der Social Media
- Sozialförmige Dynamiken digitaler Medien und ihre ekklesialen Effekte
- Verhältnisbestimmung des Speicherns, Archivierens und Erinnerns
- Eine praktisch-theologische Reflexion des Risiko-Begriffs.

2021 Habilitation mit der Studie “Ohne Geländer. Pastoraltheologische Fundierungen einer risikofreudigen Ekklesiogenese”.
Wolfgang Beck has been a professor of pastoral theology and homiletics at the Phil.-Theol.Hochschule Sankt Georgen in Frankfurt a.M. since 2022. The "Media and Public Communication Study Program" is associated with the chair. Together with a number of colleagues from the Rhine-Main area, he co-founded the "Arbeitskreis Rhein-Main-Digitale" in 2017, from whose meetings the compendium "Theologie und Digitalität" emerged.
